Free counselling for students

Want to talk to someone? – Come talk with the student chaplains!

Life as a student can be hard – and some things can be difficult to handle by yourself, especially as an exchange student in a foreign country far away from home.

The student chaplains are ministers from the Danish National Church who are educated in counselling and therapy, and they are at the university to offer free counselling for ALL students at Aarhus University, VIA University College and Navitas.
The chaplains are Christians – but you don’t have to be. Everybody is welcome, and the conversation is not about religion, unless of course that is what you want to talk about.

What can you talk about?
No issue is too big or too small for a conversation with the chaplains.
You can discuss anything from relationships, grief, stress, identity struggles, loneliness to your studies or religious and spiritual issues. You decide what you want to talk about during our session. Futhermore, the conversations are absolutely confidential – nothing is written down.

Price: Free for all students
Duration: One-hour sessions

To book an appointment, simply text or email one of the chaplains and ask for a time.

The conversations usually take place in our offices, so we can sit quietly together and talk. However, if you are more comfortable with other types of conversation, we also offer the following alternatives (when you book your conversation, just specify that you would like one of the other types):

  1. Phone conversation
  2. Video conversation (using e.g. Skype or Facetime)
  3. Walk’n’talk; if the weather allows it, we will take a long walk while talking.
  4. E-mail correspondence; if you prefer written conversation, we can chat or exchange e-mails.
